Alamosa resident Marcia Lucero, 62, passed away peacefully in her own home on Jan. 5, 2024.
Marcia was born to Asisclo “Si” and Cecelia Gallegos Gonzales on Jan. 22, 1961, in Alamosa, Colo. She graduated from Centauri High School in 1979. Marcia met the love of her life, Tim Lucero, and they were wed on July 11, 1987, in Denver, Colo.
Marcia was one who loved to be outdoors. She enjoyed fishing and camping. She really liked to read, so much that she was always reading, even when she was watching TV. Marcia was an amazing cook, her family always enjoyed eating her home cooked meals and desserts. Family was very important to her, and she loved to spend time with them.
Marcia is survived by her husband Tim; her children Felicia Gonzales of Alamosa, Colo., Vanessa Lucero of Denver, Colo., Samuel Lucero of Alamosa, Colo., and Steven Lucero of Alamosa, Colo.; her grandkids Joseph Lauro III of Alamosa, Colo., Timothy Gonzales, Alamosa, Colo., Alexis Wartman of Denver, Colo., and Jeremiah Mills of Alamosa; her siblings Monica (Phil) Ramirez, Jimmy (Sharon) Gonzales, Genevieve Gonzales, Andy Gonzales, Patricia Gonzales and Michael (Roberta) Gonzales; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Marcia was preceded in death by both of her parents, her sister Martha Gonzales, her brother Phillip Gonzales, and her maternal grandparents.
Cremation has been chosen. Recitation of the Rosary will be Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Parish in Capulin. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday the 26th at 1 p.m. at the Saint Joseph Catholic Parish in Capulin. Inurnment will follow in the Capulin Cemetery.
