Skylar Berry, 6, scans the shelves for a video game for his brother with Alamosa Police Officer William Squires during Shop With a Cop at Wal-Mart on Dec. 16. Thirty-six disadvantaged children from around the community were treated to the opportunity to shop for their family at the second annual event hosted by the Alamosa Police Department in conjunction with Adams State University Campus Police, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Alamosa County Sheriff's Department and Colorado State Patrol.

Along with private donors and the department's fundraising, Hoodlums Car Club, SLV Behavioral Health and Xcel Energy supported the event.
