On Friday, October 26, 2018, Kenneth Elwyn Coulter, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away at the age of 81, in Sanford, Colorado.
Ken was born in Meeker, Colorado, on September 30, 1937. He was raised in Sanford, Colorado, by his mother, Jacqueline Rose Watson Jones and Kenneth Calvin Jones.
Ken served in the Army from 1955-1958. Afterwards, he served a 2-year mission in the North Central States for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Adam State College, then moved to Eugene, Oregon, to work on his PhD.
After apprenticing in Massachusetts for four years, he became a pipe organ builder spending the remainder of his career in Eugene, Oregon. He built organs for churches and universities.
On August 8, 1961, he married Lois Elaine Christensen from Sanford, Colorado, in the Logan Utah Temple. They raised three daughters and one son.
Ken had a passion for music, woodworking, snowboarding, roller skating, and working with rocks and gems. His greatest joy was his family. He could be found daily walking hand in hand with his sweetheart. He loved visits with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ken is survived by his wife, Elaine, his four children, Miriam (Lance) Giles of Eugene, Oregon; Beth (David) Horsley of Bountiful, Utah; Lydia (Lance) Rich of Bountiful, Utah; and Christopher (Heidi) Coulter of Eugene, Oregon; his 15 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. His siblings, Marsha Stephens, Charla Coley, Patricia Gann, Kevin Jones, Kathy Crowther, and Callie Johnson.
He has requested no funeral services. His family gathered at the Sanford Colorado Cemetery for his burial.
