ALAMOSA — Long term resident of Alamosa Jose M. Ulibarri, 72, went to his eternal rest on Sept. 9, 2019.
Jose retired from Alamosa School District with 32 years of dedicated service. He was a hard worker who was skilled in mechanics and carpentry. He enjoyed every challenge and built his own home using every aspect of construction. He was an outdoorsman who was very proud of his family.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Betty (Vigil) Ulibarri, two daughters Ava (Juan) Morales of Aurora; Gloria (Jim) Slovak of New York; six grandchildren, two brothers Willie of Westminster, and Raymond of Lafayette; numerous nieces, nephews, one sister-in-law Ruby (Lawrence) of Pueblo and a lifelong friend Lawrence Lucero of Alamosa.
Jose was preceded in death by his parents Cipriano and Natividad, brothers Bernie, Ernie, Ike, Joe J. Felix and one sister Florence.
Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the Romero Funeral Chapel. The care of arrangements has been entrusted to Romero Funeral Home of Alamosa.
