Joe L. Martinez, 94, of Center, Colorado, passed away December 13, 2022. Joe was born on October 25, 1928 in Capulin, Colorado to Luis Martinez and Virginia Quintana Martinez.
Joe was skilled in many areas of work but he was a hard working farmer for many years, he was also a certified welder.
Joe loved to dance, he was an avid Broncos fan, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He loved to tell jokes and always had a special story to tell about memories he was most fond of, especially those of his younger years.
Family meant everything to him, they were his greatest blessings and joy in life. Joe would do anything without hesitation for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a part of many milestones for his family and while attending those milestones he carried a proud look on his face. Joe was a bright light in this world and will truly be missed.
Joe will live on through his loving family. His children, Linda (Michael) Trujillo of Monte Vista, Co; Terri (Rick) Martinez of Monte Vista, Co; Charlie (Margie) Martinez of Grand Junction, Co; Chris (RoseAnn) Martinez of Center, Co; Jennifer (Dean) Garcia of Grand Junction, Co; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; His siblings, Emma Quintana; Stella Rivera. He is also survived by numerous other extended family members and friends
Joe was preceded in death by his parents Luis and Virginia Martinez; beloved wife Luz Martinez; one daughter LeAnn Garcia; one great grandchild Chloe Martinez; as well as his 3 other siblings.
A Rosary vigil will be held Friday, January 6, 2023 at 6 pm and the funeral mass will be Saturday, January 7,, 2023 at 10 am at Saint Francis Jerome Catholic Church in Center, Colorado.
