Fort Garland Resident John Brinkley Moullette, 97, joined his fellow soldiers in heaven on Oct. 16, 2024. John was welcomed into the world on Jan. 23, 1927, to the late Clarence and Margaret Moullette. 

He enlisted to the United States Marines and served for seven years. He served in the Korean war and after leaving the Marines he was united in marriage to Lillian Lay, the two were blessed with five children who meant the world to him. 

John was in many organizations throughout his life, merchant mariner was one. John received his doctorate in Vocational Education from Rutgers University. He worked for many years at ARAMCO till his retirement. 

John loved traveling but had to be by car, he also enjoyed sailing, hiking, and the time he spent at his historical Hacienda in Fort Garland. 

His greatest pastime was the time he spent with his loving family. He will be missed by all who knew him. 

Johns’ legacy will live on through his children, Jeanne Moullette, Bruce (Donna) Moullette, Edward (Deborah Cruz) Moullette; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Lillian Moullette, parents Clarence and Margaret Phillipson Moullette, son John Moullette, and daughter Jennifer Moullette. 

Cremation has been chosen and service will be held at a later date.
