J. Luis Rivera

Posted

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of J. Luis Rivera, a beloved father, brother, and cherished friend who passed away unexpectedly on October 17th, 2025, at the age of 75.

Born to the late Adrian and Mishi Rivera, Luis grew up with a passion for building and creating, a gift that would become both his lifelong career and his art. For over 40 years, he dedicated himself to his craft, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. His hands built more than just structures — they built memories, friendships, and a legacy of hard work and integrity.

Above all else, Luis was a loving and proud father to his three daughters who were the light of his life and a cherished grandfather to his five grandchildren, who brought immense joy and pride to his life. His greatest joy came from seeing them grow, succeed, and carry his strength and love forward.

He is survived by his daughters Marisa (Ryan), Luisa, and Emiliana (Andrew); his loving companion Lyn Pacheco Miles; siblings, Gloria Rivera, Carlos Rivera (Johanna), Andrew Rivera, and Geraldine Martinez; his grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews who will all miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Elizabeth Atencio, and his brother-in-law Peter Martinez, who surely welcomed him home with open arms.

Those who knew Luis will remember his quiet nature, his master craftsmanship, his kindness, and his loving heart. Whether he was sharing a laugh, fixing something that seemed unfixable, or offering a helping hand, he made every life he touched a little better.

A celebration of Luis’s life will be held in the summer of July 2026, where friends and family are invited to gather, share stories, and honor the incredible man he was.  Details will be provided closer to this date.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered — always in our hearts.
