Longtime San Luis resident James “Jimmy” Elliott Vessels, 61, passed away on December 5, 2022. He was born on February 6, 1961, in Denver, Colorado to James Frank and Helen Anne (Elliott) Vessels. He overcame some adversities and graduated from Fowler High School. Jimmy was a rancher through and through, he loved to work hard and always found ways to help around the ranch. Whether it was feeding animals, clearing weeds, riding in his Kubota around the property or caring for his parents. He was always busy and kept the ranch duties under control. He liked watching Gunsmoke, enjoyed classic country music and had a passion for big trucks and heavy equipment.
Jimmy is survived by his parents, his siblings, Mike Vessels, Tim (Ruthann) Vessels, and Patti Quackenbush, his niece and nephews Colton (Lori) Vessels, Jordan Vessels and Jace (Alexa) Vessels as well as a great-niece Endee Sage Vessels and numerous other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his great niece Vivian Rose Vessels
Cremation was selected and a service will be held at a later date at the Families Ranch. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Tomorrow’s Bread or the Amarah Childrens Foundation and may be made in care of the funeral home office.
