ALAMOSA — Alamosa resident Jess “Sonny” Leedrew Castoe, 78, passed away on September 2, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on October 29, 1941, in Del Norte, Colorado to Leedrew Castoe and Rose Durham.
Sonny was a longtime contractor and home builder in the San Luis Valley. He enjoyed arrowhead hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, four-wheeling, playing bingo, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Andrea Castoe of Alamosa, his daughters, Shawnna Castoe and Erin Holloway (Jeremiah) both of Alamosa, his grandchildren, Nicholas Peirce, Devin Cooper, Maya Castoe and Tobias Ruybal as well as one sister, Sylvia Pearson and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Sonny was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Rosalie Whitehead, Alice Baldwin, Doris Sprouse, May Owens, Marjorie Mark and Benjamin Birdsey.
Cremation was selected and a celebration of life gathering will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at the family home in Alamosa on Ironfield Road beginning at 5:00 pm.
