On Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, Jerel Pete Salazar, loving son and father passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 28. He was born Jan. 7, 1996, in Alamosa, Colo., to Angel Marie Espinoza and Jerome Salazar.
Jerel had a love of life, enjoying his two daughters Neveah Mae Salazar and Nalah Marie Salazar and the great outdoors. He reveled in any opportunity to go ice fishing with his dad or hunting with family and friends. He loved being at any lake to camp, fish and enjoy the love of nature and the presence of family.
His laugh and smile were infectious and his personality lit up the room. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jerel was preceded in death by grandparents, Filimon Salazar, Gertrude Salazar, Telésforo Lobato, and Goregeann Aguilar. As well as many other family and friends.
Jerel is survived by his daughters Nevaeh and Nalah Salazar, mother Angel Espinoza(Joe Martinez) and father Jerome Salazar(Melissa Atencio), stepfather Tiger Espinoza, brother Jerome Salazar(Shantel Aguirre), sister Nicole Espinoza, and sister Andrea Salazar(Kevin O’cana). He is also survived by many wonderful uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Jerel will be cremated and by Farmington Funeral Home in Farmington, N.M., on West Apache and services will also be held there. A viewing will be Monday, Nov. 28, at 1 p.m. and a small service will be followed behind at 2 p.m.
