SANFORD – Jeffrey Dean Crowther left us peacefully on Dec. 2, 2024, at his home in Sanford, Colo. Born on July 9, 1955, in Alamosa, Colo., Jeffrey's life was a testament to the values of hard work, faith, and family.

Jeffrey's early years were rooted in the community of Sanford where he graduated from Sanford High School in 1974. Jeffrey served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Japan, an experience that enriched his life and broadened his horizons.

Jeffrey's love for the great outdoors was unmistakable. The mountains were his haven, a place where he found peace and the perfect backdrop for his passion for photography. His love for the land translated into a lifelong career in farming, where he became known for his exceptional potatoes. For over 40 years, Jeffrey worked tirelessly to provide for his beloved family.

A man of deep faith, Jeffrey's positive outlook on life was anchored in his belief in Jesus Christ. His humble and appreciative nature was evident to all who knew him, and his love for his Lord was matched only by the love he had for his family. Jeffrey's wife, Julie, stood by his side in every season of life, and together they raised a family that was the center of his world. He was a devoted father to Janna (Travis) Robinson, Jason (Anna) Crowther, Josh (Cherielle) Crowther, Jennifer Crowther, Joni (Patrick) Wigger, and Jodi (Ren) Johnson. His legacy continues through his 26 grandchildren, who brought immense joy and pride into his life.

Jeffrey's love for his family extended to his siblings, with whom he shared many of life's joys and challenges.

He is survived by his brothers, Dennis (Debra) Crowther, Les (Sheri) Crowther, and Rusell (Kindra) Crowther, and his sisters, Jackie Huffaker, Jorie (Larry) Scott, and Shelly (E.B.) Little. Survivors also include his brother in laws Jack and Tony Hawkins, Danny and Aleida Hawkins, and his sister in laws Vicki Storm and Tracey and Mark Hostetter.  These bonds of kinship were a source of strength and comfort throughout his life.

Preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Helen Crowther, his father and mother-in-law Roy and Beverly Hawkins, his granddaughter, Olivia Workman, and his brother-in-law, Norval "Bill" Huffaker, and brother-in-law, Darrell Storm.

Jeffrey leaves behind a family that remembers him with profound love and respect. His absence will be deeply felt, but his spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Jeffrey's influence reached beyond the confines of his family. As a member of the SLV Antique Tractor Club, he shared his enthusiasm for vintage machinery and the history of farming with fellow enthusiasts. His coworkers benefited from his vast knowledge and sage advice, which he dispensed generously.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at Sanford First Ward The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Sanford Cemetery.
