James Robert Overman III

James Robert Overman III…may you Rest in Eternal Peace, 10-04-1959 to 07-28-2018.

An advocate for love and friendship with an amazing sense of humor; he led a simple life; loved his family, friends, and animals…demonstrated through his loyalty, which was beyond reproach.

He was a Colorado native, who dedicated his life to the surveying industry throughout our Rocky Mountain region.  He became a Subject Matter Expert of Colorado History, best known for his profound respect and appreciation of Native American & Hispanic Heritage.

He was a loving son, brother, cousin, nephew, uncle, and friend, who shared his humorous outlook of life.  He enjoyed hiking in the great outdoors and capably fused adventure seeking with the discovery of real-truth.  He knew that it is better to be seen than it is to be heard…and always visited his family and friends, every chance he had.

He is survived by: his mother, Helen Coreen Melonas; brothers Scott Neff, Jerry Bouse, George Melonas, William Melonas; sister, Cynthia Melonas; his most loyal & trusted companion Mogwai (his “Tiny” little mutt); and many-many family members & friends.

We will miss his tender presence, but we will continue to keep his essence in the world through our recollections and laughter.  Let us all bid farewell to a good man and celebrate his transition by having a good time in his honor…privately, publicly, and/or personally.

The celebration of life social, to honor James, will be held at the Alamosa American Legion:  514 E. 4th St; Sunday, the 12th of August, 2018; at 3 p.m. local time.
