Ivin Jake Chavez passed away on April 4, 2024, in his hometown of Alamosa, Colo. Ivin was born on Dec. 10, 1999, to Chasity Espinosa and Ismael Chavez.
Ivin will be greeted in heaven by his Father Ismael Chavez, his maternal grandparents Sharon Espinosa and Amarante Archuleta, his paternal grandmother Gloria Chavez, his uncles Shawn Chavez and Oscar Chavez.
Ivin is survived by his mother Chasity Espinosa and stepfather Daniel Garcia, Sisters Ebony Chavez, Devyn Sisneros, his brothers Daniel Michael Garcia and Christian Moreno, his maternal great-grandparents Efren (Mary Ellen) Gomez, paternal grandfather Dave Chavez and step-grandmother Teresa Chavez, step-grandparents Abel (Vera) Garcia, his uncles and aunts Tara Espinosa, Steve (Mindy) Chavez, Isaac Chavez, Lea Chavez, Trish (Jason) Rogers, Charles Benskin, Sarah (Augustas) Quintana, Jabez Chavez, Amber Garcia and Arron, cousins Mya Espinosa, Nolan Bonney, Josiah (Tausha) Chavez, Quiel Chavez, Zydon Chavez, his Niece Ellena Marquez and many more family and friends.
Ivin was a dedicated employee at Mortensen's Landscaping, where he contributed his skills and work ethic with quiet pride. His interests were as kind and genuine as his character, he loved exercising, fishing, and bowling. Ivin had a special bond with his family and cherished the time they spent with them, especially his little brother Daniel.
Described by those who knew him as kind, loving, and thoughtful. Ivin was a quiet, soft-spoken young man whose beautiful smile could light up a room. His caring spirit and gentle ways left a lasting impact on the hearts of those fortunate enough to have crossed his path. Ivin's gentle presence and warm smile were a blessing to all who knew him throughout his 24 years of life.
Ivin's memory will be cherished and kept alive by the many lives he touched. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit will continue to inspire kindness and love in the hearts of his family and friends.
Cremation has been chosen and a memorial service will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 514 Fourth St., Alamosa, CO.
