Isabel was born in Del Norte, Colo., on July 14, 1940, the daughter of Victor Duran and Simonita Vigil Duran. She married her husband Edward E. Pacheco in Colorado Springs, Colo., they were wed for 53 years.

Isabel was a homemaker and an excellent cook; she made the best tortillas. She worked for a time at the Center Schools as a cook as well as the summers cooking for the migrant Children program at the Center Schools in Center.

She is remembered for always opening her home to everyone and was a very spiritual and generous person, her Children say she had a direct line to heaven and when she would pray for you, you know that you were going to get your blessing. She could make friends with anyone, even if you were just standing in line at the grocery store behind her, she truly was a prayer warrior.

Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.  On occasion she liked to travel with her son and gamble at the casinos in Espanola, N.M.

Isabel is survived by her children Terry (Connie) Pacheco of Alamosa, Colo., Kenneth (Socorro) Pacheco of Denver, Colo., Tammy (James) Dominguez of Fresno, Calif., and Amy (Andrew) Barraza of Sanger, Calif.; and her brother Jesse Duran of Pueblo, Colo.; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
