IN LOVING MEMORY – JERRI WOODARD

Posted

A lifelong lover of Jesus, Jerri (Peters Russell) Woodard, 69, of Chadron, Nebraska, passed away on August 21, 2025, in Garden City, Kansas, in the loving care of her daughters. Born into a close-knit family, Jerri touched the lives of everyone around her and was a beacon of Light from a very early age.

She had great compassion for all people and furry friends, and willingly shared her time, energy, and love. Whether she was comforting a friend, lending a helping hand, or sharing a recipe, she made the world a better place just by being in it.

Perhaps her greatest accomplishment in life (apart from being a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, friend, and child of God) was her 32-year, truly heaven-sent career as a massage therapist, and 15-year natural health and wellness educator and advocate in the Chadron, Nebraska area.

She touched the lives of thousands, literally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Her creativity and enthusiasm shone bright throughout all her years of dedication to her daughters and family, community, Seventh Day Adventist and supper club families, and inspired those around her to embrace the life of service and healthier living.

Her absence will be felt profoundly by all who knew her. Jerri leaves behind her daughters and their husbands: Heather and Kevin, Misty and Henry Brown, and Ashley and Jason Blood; her grandchildren: AJ and Emma; her mother: Florence Peters; siblings: David Peters and Cami Howlett; Nieces and Nephews: Erin Peters, Ryan Sims, and Brandon, Kobee, and Aaliyah Howlett, and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her dearly loved father, Bill Peters. Her caring spirit will live on in our hearts, and her memory will continue to guide and comfort us.

As we say goodbye, we take solace in knowing that she is at peace, and her legacy will never be forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will be held November 15th, 3:30 pm at the Chadron SDA church where friends and family are invited to gather and honor her remarkable journey.

In remembrance, the family asks that donations be made to a charity close to her heart, or that acts of kindness be performed in her honor. Please visit www.thegreatescape4u.com for more info.

Rest in peace, dear Mama. We are looking forward to seeing you again at the resurrection. 1 Thess. 4:14-18, 16 KJV, “…For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first…”
