Horacio Gilbert Naranjo

Posted

Lifelong Monte Vista resident Horacio Gilbert Naranjo, 56, was called home to be reunited in Heaven with his parents on Oct. 12, 2024. He passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all of his loving family, just like he would have wanted. Horacio made his grand entrance into the world on Aug. 17, 1968, the beloved son of Horacio Eloy Naranjo and Beneranda (Archuleta) Naranjo.

Everyone who knew Horacio knew he was a jokester and always the first to help anyone in need. He was selfless in all that he did.

He worked doing landscaping and loved to keep himself busy. Many business owners in the community will have fond memories of Horacio from him coming to their businesses anytime it snowed, or the trees made messes with the leaves. He would be there like magic raking leaves and shoveling snow to help out.

Horacio was the silent employee of Romero Funeral Home because he always kept their building in Monte Vista looking amazing from his landscaping and cleaning services.

When he did have free time, He enjoyed riding his bike, picking piñon, and doing woodwork. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan, and he absolutely loved and cherished the time he spent with his family and friends. They were his world. He is already so dearly missed.

Horacio will live on through his family, which include his Soul Mate Arlene Gallegos, of Utah; daughter Vanessa (Fernando) Naranjo, sons Anthony (Alicia) Naranjo, Dominico (Ellie) Naranjo, grandchildren Elena Naranjo, Izaiah Naranjo, Cruz Naranjo, Aceiel Naranjo, Isabella Naranjo, Jayden Naranjo, Sophia Naranjo, Emilio Reyes Martinez, Davinah Martinez, sisters Maryann Herrera, Rose Marie (Lorenzo) Morales, Bernice (Henry) Naranjo, Lorraine Monge, Teresa Flores, Berlinda Naranjo, Brenda Naranjo and his two brothers Arnold Naranjo and Teddy Naranjo. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Horacio was welcomed into heaven by his parents Horacio and Benie Naranjo, daughter Tammy Naranjo, nephews Raymond Flores, Francisco Martinez, Toby Herrera as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
