SAN LUIS VALLEY — The holiday season is upon us, and the San Luis Valley has plenty of festive activities scheduled. We have compiled this list of the many fun events. We will update this list throughout the season.

Saturday, Dec. 2

Sacred Heart Catholic Church Holiday Bazaar 

• 8 a.m.-1 p.m. – 715 Fourth St., Alamosa
  Crafts, bake sale, church raffle, lunch

Gingerbread Festival

• 9 a.m.-11 a.m. - Rio Grande Farm Park in Alamosa

Drive-thru event. Santa Claus will be there to greet the children and their families. Hosted by Tu Casa, Inc. 

Monte Vista Christmas Celebration

• 5:15 p.m. – Tree lighting and caroling (with a visit from Santa and the Grinch), Fullenwider Park in Monte Vista.
• 6 p.m. – Parade on Adams Street

Monte Vista Holiday Bazaar

• 9 a.m.-4 p.m. - Ski Hi Complex, Monte Vista

Vendors, crafts, photos with Santa.

Saguache Holiday Bazaar

• 10 a.m.-3 p.m. - Mountain Valley School Gym, 403 Pitkin Ave., Saguache.

A John Denver Christmas

• 7 p.m. - Society Hall, 400 Ross Ave., Alamosa

John Denver tribute artist Chris Collins presents “A John Denver Christmas.” Accompanying Chris will be keyboardist Nigel Newton, from Chris’s Boulder Canyon Band.

Wednesday, Dec. 6

St. Nick at the Bricks

• 4-6 p.m. - Alamosa High School stadium

The Alamosa Alumni Association along with Maroon Pride, AHS Student Council, Ef's Restaurant and the 5 Star Riders Car Club will be hosting the annual St. Nick at the Bricks. There will be free posole, biscochitos, hot cocoa, and candy canes as well as free craft activities, selfies with Santa, holiday music, and more!

Please join us for an evening of holiday cheer and good tidings in front of the AHS athletic stadium. Donations for the Alumni Association food drive, coat drive and toy drive will also be accepted and appreciated that evening.

Friday, Dec. 8

SLV Christmas Concert

• 7 p.m. - Society Hall, 400 Ross Ave.

The SLV Community Band will perform a Christmas Concert that will be recorded. $10.

Saturday, Dec. 9

Winter Market

• 10 a.m.-2 p.m. - North River Greenhouse, 1155 W 7th St., Alamosa

Booths with unique gifts, organic food, and local products. Activity booths for pot painting, custom succulents planting area. This event is Dec. 9 and Dec.16

Creede Holiday Market

• 11 a.m.-3 p.m. - downtown Creede

Local shops and vendors, fire pits, kids’ activities, carolers, food, drink, live music

San Luis Tree Lighting

• 6 p.m. - Town Hall

Enjoy tree lighting, presents, apple cider.
