HDMG announces 2025 funding for singer-songwriters

Supporting independent artists in CO, NM, TX

ALAMOSA — Howlin’ Dog Music Group (HDMG) is thrilled to announce the launch of its 2025 funding round for singer-songwriters ready to record their original music. Grant applications are being accepted from March 1 through March 22, 2025. This initiative is designed to uplift independent artists and ensure the sustainability of the music they create.

At its core, the non-profit HDMG is built upon the idea of a collaboration among people who are committed to being “a transformative force for positive change.” That change starts where the music always starts, with the artists themselves.

“We believe in the power of collective action to support and sustain the music we love,” said Don Richmond, Founder and Board Member at HDMG. “Traditional models of funding and distribution are no longer viable, so we are committed to finding new ways to help artists thrive.”

This grant opportunity is open to residents of Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas who perform original material and are actively performing at the local, regional, or national level. Each selected artist will receive $3,500 to support their project, helping them bring their music to life.

The Project Committee, a dedicated subcommittee of HDMG, will review all applications and select recipients. The final recipients will be announced by April 15, 2025.

Interested singer-songwriters can submit their applications between March 1-22, 2025 by visiting howlindogmusicgroup.org.

Howlin’ Dog Music Group is dedicated to fostering a sustainable future for independent musicians. Through funding initiatives and collaborative efforts, HDMG empowers singer-songwriters to continue creating and sharing their original work in an evolving music industry.
