Harris to speak about Spark the Change Colorado on June 23

ALAMOSA — Nancy Harris will speak about Spark the Change Colorado’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) on June 23 at the Alamosa Senior Citizen’s Center.

Since 1971, RSVP, one of the largest national service volunteer efforts in the nation for people aged 55 and over, has matched older adults who are willing to help with local organizations on the front lines of meeting community needs. RSVP volunteers will be enrolled at local partner organizations to address food insecurity of residents by volunteering at local food banks, coordinating food distribution, packing meals to be delivered and much more!

All are invited to attend a presentation about this program at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 23, at the Alamosa Senior Citizen’s Center, 92 Colorado Ave., Alamosa.

Harris, the RSVP Manager, will talk about the history and benefits of RSVP in Alamosa County and how older folks can get involved.

“Spark the Change Colorado’s RSVP would like to inspire community members and leaders to embrace this new program and to connect and engage with us, so that we may better understand how to serve your community,” organizers stated.

To become a partner organization or to volunteer in Alamosa County, contact Harris at nharris@sparkthechangecolorado.org or 303-867-0868.
