Longtime Antonito resident Glenn Clarence Sandoval, 72, died Dec. 29, 2022, at the San Luis Valley Health Conejos County Hospital.
Glenn was born to Gabriel Sandoval and Lila (Valdez) Sandoval at their home in Mogote, Colo., on Dec. 2, 1950.
Glenn worked for many years as a Diesel Mechanic in Denver, Colo. He loved being in the mountains and especially hunting. He could also be found occasionally fishing in the hills. Glenn also enjoyed gathering firewood and watching western movies on television.
He is survived by his children Gabriel Sandoval of Denver, Colo., Gwen Sandoval of Kansas, and Gene “Gino” Lopez of Littleton, Colo.; his grandchildren Trinidad, Marissa Rose, and Gabriel; his siblings Lola Ruybalid of Los Lunas, N.M., and Olivia “Connie” (Norman) Richardson of La Jara, Colo.; his two favorite nieces he considered his sisters Lucy (Ronald) Farmer of Manassa, Colo., and Joanne Salazar of Antonito, Colo.; as well as numerous cousins, extended family, and friends.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Lucy Schultz, Sarah George, Corinne Archuleta, Andrietta Sandoval, Cruz Valdez, Julia Mae Rockstad, and David Sandoval.
Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at the Fox Creek Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment of ashes will follow services in the Fox Creek Cemetery.
