Kay completed her Bachelor of Science degree at Adams State College. She chose a career in healthcare as a Radiologic Technologist, a role in which she excelled for many years. Her adeptness in her profession was as evident as her ability to adapt to the ever-changing technology and demands of the healthcare system.
A dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kay's faith was an intrinsic part of her life. Her commitment to her faith led her to fulfill a mission with her sister in Poland, which added to the richness of her experiences and service. Her civic engagement was a testament to her beliefs as she served as the President of the local Republican Party, influencing her community with her strong and fair leadership.
Beyond her professional and spiritual life, Kay was an avid golfer, an enthusiast traveler, and a culinary explorer. Her golf clubs were her constant companions on her journeys, seeking out new courses in her travels. Kay's love of travel was matched by her adventurous palate; trying new foods was always a highlight of her trips. Back at home, her own cooking was celebrated by her family, a testament to the love and care she put into every meal.
Kay's devotion to her family was her greatest pride. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose guidance and affection were the heart of the family. Survived by her children, Scott (Shannon) Hensley, Mark (Stephanie) Hensley, Lynn (Liz) Hensley, Gregory Hensley, Justin (Michelle) Hensley, and Julia (Shodi) Hensley, along with eighteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, Kay's nurturing presence will be deeply missed.
