ALAMOSA —  Officers with the Alamosa Police Department (APD) took five people into custody on Thursday afternoon, following the execution of a search warrant in relation to illegal drug activity at a residence in the 1200 block of Bell Avenue.

All five suspects are from Alamosa.

According to a press release from the city of Alamosa, an investigation by APD documented numerous complaints of constant foot and vehicle traffic consistent with illicit drug sales, as well as observations of known drug affiliates traveling to and from the residence.

While searching the property, detectives found fentanyl pills and items used to distribute and consume illicit narcotics within the residence.

During the operation, seven individuals were contacted in the apartment.

Those individuals who were taken into custody include Orlando Medina 36,  of Alamosa, who was taken into custody on two active warrants: a no-bond warrant out of the Alamosa County Sheriff's Office for Theft and a warrant out of the Alamosa Police Department for Trespassing.

Inez Cruz De Medina 45, of Alamosa, was taken into custody on two active warrants: a $500 for Trespassing out of the Alamosa Police Department and another warrant out of the Alamosa County Sheriff’s Office for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Distribution.

Amanda Aragon, 38, also of Alamosa, was taken into custody on three warrants out of the Alamosa Police Department for Shoplifting x2 and Trespassing.

Blanca Cano, 24, Alamosa, was living in the residence and was taken into custody. Cano was later charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.

The Alamosa Police Department will work alongside the Alamosa Municipal Court to pursue a Criminal Nuisance Property case due to the ongoing criminal activity at the residence.
