La Jara resident Edith C. Cordova, 57, passed away February 24, 2019 at the Conejos County Hospital with her loving family by her side. Edith was welcomed into the world on June 14, 1961 in Alamosa, Colorado, the daughter of Jose G. Archuleta and Emma Martinez Archuleta. Edith was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who enjoyed crocheting, arts and crafts, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Survivors include her daughter Donna (Oscar) Cordova-Morales of Los Sauces, CO; sons Dennis Cordova Jr., Eric Cordova both of La Jara, CO; stepchildren Angel and Annette Cordova of Delaware, Billy Cordova of Pueblo, CO; grandchildren Kianna Morales, Josiah Morales, Kaiden Cordova, Lillian Cordova, sister Veronica Lucero of Los Sauces, CO; brothers Anthony Archuleta, Ernest Archuleta, Wayne Archuleta all of Los Sauces, CO. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents Jose and Emma Archuleta, husband Dennis Cordova, brother Wilbert Archuleta and one sister Judy Archuleta.
A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at 7:00 PM at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, March 4, 2019 at 11:00 AM also at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
