Dora M Garcia passed away at her home on Friday, December 8, 2017 after a lengthy illness.
Dora was born on September 23, 1931 in Taos, New Mexico to Fidel and Magdalena (Avila) Garcia.
She was a talented seamstress who also loved to crochet, embroider, garden and spend time with her family.
She is survived by her brother Jose A (Tony) Garcia (Priscilla) of Monte Vista, sisters Naomi Olivia Alire of Monte Vista, Lorraine (Ben) Sandoval of Longmont and Karen Annette Garcia of Longmont; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters Regina Garcia and Beatrice Medina and her brother Jose L (Leo) Garcia.
Cremation was chosen and entrusted to Romero Funeral Home.
A rosary is planned for Friday evening at 7:00 pm as well as a Catholic Funeral Mass on Saturday December 16th at 10:00 am. Both services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista. Interment will follow at San Luis Valley Cemetery.
