Diane Marbella Velasquez, 72, of San Acacio, Colo., gained her angel wings on April 24, 2025. Born on Oct. 7, 1952, Diane was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She dedicated over 20 years of her life as a receptionist before embracing her role as a full-time homemaker.
She cherished the time spent with her loving family and found joy in crocheting, cooking, and caring for her pets.
Diane is survived by her five children: Joseph Naranjo, Sanford, Colo., Paul Naranjo, Sanford, Colo., Bobby Medina, Denver, Colo., Bernadine Casias, La Jara, Colo., and Sindy Velasquez, San Acacio, Colo. She also leaves behind her brothers, Albert Anaya, Calif., Donny Martinez, Romeo, Colo., Randy Martinez, Romeo, Colo., as well as her sisters, Deborah Muniz of Alamosa, Colo., Susan Vigil of La Jara, Colo., and Teri DuPhresne of Pueblo, Colo.
Diane was preceded in death by her sister, Cindy Meza, her son Bobby Naranjo, her sister Mary Aann Gallegos, her mother Gloria Martinez, and her husband Orlando Velasquez, grandson Carlos Naranjo, niece Charlene Anaya. She will be remembered fondly by numerous uncles, aunts, and extended family members.
Services for Diane will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 705 Main St., San Luis, Colo. A viewing will take place from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. in the Relief Society Room, followed by Funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the San Acacio Cemetery.
