Delia Joanne (Tolsma) Madril

Posted

Delia Joanne (Tolsma) Madril, 32, of Westminster, Colo., went to be with the Lord on April 7, 2023. Delia was born on May 8, 1990, in San Bernardino, Calif., to her loving parents, Rod and Jane (Bouwers) Tolsma and biological mother, Linda Drake. Delia became the first daughter to a family full of boys and their hearts were stolen the moment she arrived.

Delia was an active member in not only her school, but community, church and athletics as well. Delia graduated from Alamosa High School in 2009 and attended college in both Alamosa and Denver (Regis). Delia enjoyed participating in 4-H with rabbits (5 years state champion with her white rex rabbits), horses, goats, sheep and with her dog Shiloh in dog competitions. In college she completed an EMT program in 2008 where she met her best friend, Trisha (Adam) Montoya.

She took pride in her work for the city of Denver at DIA where she worked for 7 years as a contract compliance specialist. Though Delia wore many titles such as EMT, city worker, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, granddaughter, and friend, her most proud and cherished title will always be mother.

Delia was blessed with beautiful daughters: Cammi Maestas and Bailee Madril. Her greatest accomplishment will always be her girls. Her daughters were truly the loves of her life. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her girls and also her dog companions, Daisy and Penelope.

Delia is survived by her parents Rod and Jane Tolsma of Alamosa; her children Cammi Maestas and Bailee Madril; her brothers Keith (Suzanne) Tolsma of Alamosa, Jeremy (Shawna) Tolsma of Monte Vista, Nick (Meryl) Tolsma of Salida and sister Adelle Drake of Chico, Calif.; her nieces and nephews, Aleceya (Dax) Mortensen, Desiray, Karter, Landon, Kaden, Maddox and Maverick. Along with many wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins and an amazing extended family.

Delia was preceded in death by her sister Christine Tolsma, grandparents, K.Cor, Donna and Jannie Bouwers, Bud and Louise.

Delia will be deeply missed by all who knew her. We take comfort in knowing that she is finally at peace and reunited with her sister, Christine, in a place of comfort and blessedness with the Lord.

A memorial will be held Friday, April 28, at 11 a.m. at Albert Francis Arena, 7750 South County Rd., Alamosa, CO 81101.
