David Frederick Doyle, 76, passed away April 23, 2025, with his son Dustin, his sister, Deb, and brother-in-law Lynn by his side.
David was born on Sept. 6, 1948, in Glenwood Springs, Colo. He was the son of the late Don and Anne Doyle and lived the majority of his life in the San Luis Valley.
He Graduated from Center High School before attending the University of New Mexico and Adams State College. He had a passion for working with the developmentally disabled population throughout his working years.
David always enjoyed being outdoors with family participating in activities like arrowhead hunting, camping, and activities with his grandchildren Stratton and Sheridan.
He especially enjoyed time with his nieces and nephews and their children. He had a tremendous passion for art, culture, architecture, poetry, music, and genealogy. His standard calligraphy handwriting was amazing, and he was undefeated in trivia games such as “Jeopardy.”
David was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Richard “Dick” Doyle and his best friend, and ex-wife, Kathryn.
He is survived by his son Dustin (Amanda), Debbie and Lynn Christensen of Loma, Colo., Di Machado of Alamosa, Colo., and Dana and Kenny Smith of Center, Colo.
David’s memorial service is planned for June 21, 2025. Family and close friends will be invited and encouraged to attend.
During the last days of his life, David received wonderful care through HopeWest Hospice. Therefore, he can be honored by donations to HopeWest Ferris Care Center, 3090 N. 12th St., Unit B, Grand Junction, CO 81506.
