Congratulations to the 2019 scholarship recipients from Del Norte School District. Due to miscommunication, there was a mistake made in the article that ran on May 30 titled “Del Norte School honors class of 2019.” In the article, it named the scholarship announcers as the recipients. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

Congratulations to the 2019 scholarship recipients from Del Norte School District. Due to miscommunication, there was a mistake made in the article that ran on May 30 titled “Del Norte School honors class of 2019.” In the article, it named the scholarship announcers as the recipients. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.


The 2019 scholarship recipients are as follows: from the Tucker-McDermott Foundation, three scholarships were awarded: Natalie Benavides will be attending school at Colorado Mesa University; the other two scholarships were awarded to juniors Max Green and Nathan Velasquez to help them prepare for their future which went to. This year’s scholarships were in honor of Stan Tucker’s sister LaDonna Tucker Fuchs.
Brittany Butler was awarded a scholarship through the Del Norte Rotary Club and the Del Norte Masonic Lodge. Hannah Velasquez also received a scholarship through the Masonic Lodge. Blake Cestone received a scholarship from Del Norte Bank and Syana Colville received one from the Jay Schrader Memorial. Samuel Lopez was awarded a scholarship from the Doug Monter Memorial Scholarship program, and Lacie Jones and Krista Trujillo received Pay It Forward scholarships.
