Monte Vista resident Connie Frances Archuleta, 76, passed away Dec. 24, 2022, at the Rio Grande Hospital in Del Norte with her loving family by her side. Connie was born on April 12, 1946, in Monte Vista, the beloved daughter of Bert Duran and Elena Archuleta.
Connie was an exceptional and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who enjoyed doing crafts. She was well known for her amazing cooking and baking she did for her family. She enjoyed singing and dancing and spending as much time as she could with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters Sandra Archuleta of LAs Cruces, N.M.; Carol (Danny) Green of Stingler, Okla.; Rose Camargo of Littleton, CO; Renee Archuleta of Las Cruces, N.M.; Connie Valenzuela of Monte Vista, Colo.; Elena (Vince) Benavides of Monte Vista, Colo.; sons Val (Diane) Valenzuela of Center, Colo.; Andrew (Dora) Valenzuela of Monte Vista, Colo.; Frank (Trish) Archuleta of Del Norte, Colo., numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank Archuleta, son Albert Comargo as well as six sisters and three brothers.
Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, at 6 p.m. at St. Joseph Church in Monte Vista. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023, at 10 a.m. also at St. Joseph Church. Burial will follow at the San Luis Valley Cemetery. The care of arrangements has been entrusted to Romero Funeral Home of Monte Vista.
