ALAMOSA — The Adjutant General of Colorado, U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Michael A. Loh, conducted an annual statewide tour of Colorado Army National Guard facilities to enhance situational awareness and community connections Aug. 22-24.
He stopped at the readiness center in Alamosa on August 22.
“I look forward to seeing firsthand our full-time Colorado National Guard personnel hard at work in their communities,” Loh said. “These soldiers have forged strong bonds to communities throughout our state. The outstanding community support our National Guard receives in return ensures a trained and ready operational force.”
The tour ensures the Adjutant General and senior leaders from the Colorado Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, COARNG, and the Colorado Air National Guard have the opportunity to visit with local officials and unit members and to assess equipment and facilities.
“As Maj. Gen. Loh has only recently been appointed to his position, in some instances this will be his first direct interaction with Soldiers and units at some of the more outlying readiness centers and communities,” U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Laura L. Clellan, Colorado Army National Guard, Land Component Commander said. “These visits also provide an opportunity for personnel to hear firsthand from their leaders, demonstrate pride by highlighting their accomplishments, and address the challenges they may need support to overcome.”
This year’s tour included visits to units, communities, and readiness centers in Montrose, Alamosa, Pueblo, Windsor, Fort Lupton, Watkins and Fort Carson. While at Fort Carson, the adjutant general also attended the 4th Infantry Division change of leadership ceremony.
