TOWN of DEL NORTE FINANCE OFFICER/TOWN TREASURER.
The Town of Del Norte is accepting applications or resumes for finance officer/town treasurer. The finance officer is also responsible for maintaining the accounting records as well as the Town’s accounting system. The Town currently operates Caselle as its accounting system with modules for accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipting, court management, general ledger, and utility management. The finance officer is also responsible for the preparation and submission of the annual budget upon approval from the Town Board. It is the responsibility of the finance officer to implement best practices and ensure the Town is following local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Also, overseeing the Utility billing and is responsible for timely and accurate billing and collection of water and wastewater revenues, as well as providing courteous and efficient customer service. This position is also responsible for any miscellaneous billings and collections that occur within the Town through accounts receivable module. Along with utility billing and accounts receivable, this position is also responsible for all accounts payable within the Town of Del Norte. Position is appointed by Town Board of Trustees responsible for overseeing all aspects budgeting, financial planning, accounting, reporting, and with the primary goal of ensuring the Town’s long-term financial health, with analysts to produce accurate financial information for decision-making. This position also takes on many hats as human resources officer and risk management of Town’s asset coverages. Applicant must have knowledge of municipal accounting and grant financing and administration. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or public administration from an accredited college or university, five (5) years of direct, progressive, responsible financial management experience three (3) of which must be in municipal accounting and include three (3) years of supervisory experience.
