DENVER — Guadalupe Parish Credit Union recently announced that Robert A. Chavez, President and Chief Executive Officer, has been appointed by Colorado Governor Jared Polis to serve on the Division of Financial Services Board of Directors.

Chavez brings 30 years of leadership experience in the credit union industry and a longstanding commitment to community-based financial services. He has served in the capacity of President/CEO for the past 14 years.

Under his leadership, Guadalupe Parish Credit Union has grown to become a vital financial resource for Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, St. Joseph Parish and Sangre De Cristo parish and their communities, emphasizing financial inclusion, cultural competency, and member empowerment.

“It is an honor to be appointed to the Division of Financial Services Board by Governor Polis,” said Chavez. “I look forward to working with my fellow board members to ensure the safety, soundness, and innovation of Colorado’s financial cooperatives. Together, we can strengthen access to ethical and equitable financial services across the state.”

The Division of Financial Services regulates state-chartered credit unions and other financial entities, promoting public confidence and safeguarding members’ interests through effective oversight and regulatory guidance.

As a member of the Board of Directors, Chavez will help shape policy decisions and provide strategic direction to ensure the continued integrity and resilience of Colorado’s financial system.
