Catherine Eloisa Archuleta, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on March 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Jan. 14, 1952, in San Luis, Colo., to Vicente Archuleta and Cresanta Griego.  

Catherine was a dedicated servant of her community, working tirelessly within the school district, where her compassion and commitment made a lasting impact on the lives of many students and families. She was also known as a beloved family cook, sharing her culinary talents and love through the meals she prepared for her family. 

Catherine is survived by her children, Louie (Ginnie), Isiah, and Miguel Chairez, and her nine cherished grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her sister, Bertina Knoll, and her four brothers: Tom, Myers, Dave, and Doro Archuleta. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vicente and Cresanta Archuleta; her brothers, Leroy, Joe, and Manuel Archuleta; and her sister, Margaret Valdez. 

Catherine had a passion for cooking for her family and cherished the time spent caring for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed the thrill of lottery scratch tickets, which brought her joy and excitement. 

Her warmth, kindness, and love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A celebration of her life will be held at a Blanca/Fort Garland Community Center on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 11 a.m., interment to follow at the Blanca Cemetery, and a reception at the Fort Garland Community Center after, where family and friends will gather to share memories and honor her legacy.
