Beloved Del Norte resident Carol Dawn Duran was called home to be reunited with the Lord on Sept. 26, 2024. She passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side. Carol was welcomed into the world on Dec. 16, 1978, she is the daughter of Joseph Duran and Elizabeth (Archuleta) Duran.
Carol was truly one of the kindest, gentle and compassionate person you could ever meet. She had a smile that could light up a room. She was selfless in all she did. She loved writing poems, doing diamond art and reading. Carol loved spending time with her family, friends and of course her dog Bella.
Carol was preceded in death by her grandparents Mary Martinez, Ruben Duran, Jose Archuleta, step-grandfather Eli Martinez, uncles Jose Archuleta, Fred Archuleta, Glenn Martinez, Leroy Sanchez, aunts cousin Kimberly Archuleta, Melody Duran, Ruby Grace Duran and Frances Duran.
She will live on through her parents Joseph and Elizabeth Duran of Alamosa, Colo.; grandmother La La Archuleta of Austin, Colo.; brother Robert (Shannon) Duran of Alamosa, Colo.; nephew Carson Duran and one niece Brooklyn Duran. She is also survived by many other extended family members and friends.
Cremation was chosen and a Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024, at 6 p.m. at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Del Norte. A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024, at 10 a.m. also at Holy Name of Mary Church. Inurnment will follow at the Agua Ramon Cemetery.
