South Fork resident Carl Edwin Woodruff, 100, passed away on April 26, 2018 at the Colorado State Veterans Center at Homelake. He was born on May 10, 1917 in Cunningham, Kansas to Herbert Orin and Lucy Frances Woodruff. He married Agnes Marie Asher on July 18, 1939 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, they were later Sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1964. Carl honorably served his country in the United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after 33 years of service as an Electronics Technician. Following his retirement, his love of electronics continued as he focused on radio and television repair as well as keeping up with the new advances in technology. He enjoyed HAM radio operation and doing family research in genealogy. Carl was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was the Executive Secretary to five Bishops, serving in both Colorado Springs and Del Norte.
Carl is survived by his daughter Lucy (Lyle) Tuoti of South Fork, ten grandsons, two of which are from Del Norte, Matthew and Josef Tuoti.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Agnes, his son Lawrence Woodruff as well as his grandchildren, Brandon and Mitchell Tuoti.
A funeral service will be held at 5:00 pm on Monday April 30, 2018 at the Del Norte Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. A visitation will be held prior to the service at the church from 4:00 pm to 4:45 pm. Interment will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday May 2, 2018 at Memorial Garden Cemetery in Colorado Springs.
