ALAMOSA — Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Alamosa County, which connects seniors with local volunteer opportunities, invites the public to its monthly speaker series, “Spark Speaker Series: Empowering Aging in Colorado.”
The next event in the series takes place on Tuesday, June 10 at 1 p.m. at the Alamosa Senior Citizens Center. This popular series addresses issues pertaining to older adults and their health and features local expert speakers on topics such as well-being, nutrition, volunteering, memory, physical health, and much more.
All are welcome and no registration is necessary. The topic on June 10 is “Caregiver Resources” and the featured speakers are Nichole Hunter, RN, Executive Director and Tiffany Ruiz, Account Executive, with At Home Healthcare. This informative presentation will share the many resources available to caregivers through At Home Healthcare. Their program offers skilled services such as nursing and physical therapy that are 100% covered by Medicare. Their number one goal is to keep patients at home for as long as possible and as safe as possible. At Home Healthcare provides medication management, disease process education, preventing falls, aftercare post ortho procedures, and nutrition education. They have a social worker who can help with additional resources as well.
The series will be held at 1 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month in the Alamosa Senior Center, 92 Colorado Ave. For more information about the Spark Speaker Series, or to become an RSVP volunteer, contact Nancy Harris at nancy@projecthelping.org or 303-551-0624 ext. 721, or visit https://www.sparkthechangecolorado.org/rsvp.
