COSTILLA COUNTY — The Costilla County Sheriff’s Office reported that early in the morning on Monday, June 23, a visitor to the Shrine of the Stations of the Cross in San Luis found a deceased body on the steps. With assistance from the Colorado Bureau of Investigations, Costilla County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation.

COSTILLA COUNTY — The Costilla County Sheriff’s Office reported that early in the morning on Monday, June 23, a visitor to the Shrine of the Stations of the Cross in San Luis found a deceased body on the steps. With assistance from the Colorado Bureau of Investigations, Costilla County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation.
According to Costilla County Sheriff Danny Sanchez, the Costilla County Coroner is conducting an autopsy of the deceased who has been described as a man in his 60s. Although his identity is known and next of kin have been notified, Sanchez says his name is not yet being released.
Foul play has also been ruled out, and there is no threat to the community at this time.
