MONTE VISTA —Blanca Gonzalez-Ruiz, 76, passed away peacefully Aug. 3, 2019 at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Blanca was welcomed into the world on Oct. 27, 1942 in Mexico, the beloved daughter of Juan Manuel Gonzalez and Aurora Ruiz-Gonzalez.
Blanca was an exceptional and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who was known for being a jokester and her ornery nature. She was a selfless and loving person who was always to help anyone in need. She always put everyone else and needs they may have before her own. She liked sewing, cooking, baking and spending any and all the time she could with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her sons Juan Carlos Ochoa of Odessa, Texas; Arturo (Sylvia) Ochoa of Monte Vista; grandchildren Massiel Ochoa, Karyme Ochoa, Allen Ochoa, Blanca Fernanda Ochoa, Jainely Ochoa, Kayra Ochoa and Juan Carlos Ochoa Jr., sister Gloria Gonzalez of Mexico, brother Carlos Manuel Gonzalez of Mexico. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Blanca was preceded in death by her parents Juan Manuel Gonzalez and Aurora Ruiz-Gonzalez and her husband Arturo Ochoa Galvan.
Cremation was chosen and a Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held Thursday, Aug. 8, at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, Aug. 9 at 2 p.m. also at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista. Interment will be held at a later date.
