ALAMOSA — A 10-month-old baby was found deceased on Friday afternoon, Sept. 13. The Alamosa Police Department is conducting an investigation to determine the infant’s cause of death.
According to Alamosa Police Department’s Chief of Police George Dingfelder, on Friday afternoon, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Hunt Avenue at approximately 3:40 p.m. on the report of an unresponsive infant.
Upon arriving on the scene, officers found the infant inside a car and nonresponsive, prompting them to immediately initiate lifesaving measures. The baby could not be revived.
“That’s really all we can release at this time and an investigation is underway,” said Chief Dingfelder. “It’s just a real tragedy.”
CORRECTION: The day when the baby was found was corrected from Saturday to Friday.
