Manassa resident Andrew Gallegos gained his angel wings on the 13th of October 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Andrew was welcomed into the world on February 17, 1946, to the late Paul E. Gallegos and Nellie L. Marquez Gallegos.
In the spring of 1963, Andrew found the love of his life Janet Rebecca Maestas who proceeds him in death. They were united in marriage on February 6, 1964. The two were blessed with two wonderful daughters, that meant the world to Andrew. He devoted his life to work and providing for his loving family. Andrew worked for many years as a truck driver, on the highway he was known as “Bubble Gum” which was his CB handle.
Andrew did many different jobs in his life to make sure his family was taken care of at top priority. Andrew loved to pick on his wife, teasingly up until her passing. He also enjoyed working on the ranch, being outdoors and being a cowboy working his cattle. But his greatest treasure was the time he spent with his loving family and friends.
Andrew is survived by his two daughters Karen (Kirby) Cornum of La Jara, Colo., and Tammy (Jared) Gallegos of Manassa, Colo.; seven grandchildren Krista (Steven) Medina, Jared Cornum, Ashley (Rusty) Witherspoon, Jeremy Cornum, Miranda Quintana, Tiffany Quintana and Cayden Gallegos; xix great-grandchildren Andrew Medina, Kaleb Medina, Cameron Medina, Darion Medina, Ezequiel Moreno and Leighton Witherspoon; four sisters Cecelia Ortiz, Evelyn Cisneros, Cathy Lopez and Roberta (James) Chavez; one brother Louis Gallegos.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Andrew was preceded in death by his loving wife Janet Rebecca Gallegos, parents Paul and Nellie Gallegos; three brothers Lloyd, Bobby, and Dicky; niece Melissa Gallegos and one sister-in-law Mary Ann Gallegos.
Cremation was chosen and there will be a Rosary on October 20, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. with a funeral mass to follow at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in La Jara, CO.
