Alfonso Molina

Longtime Blanca resident Alfonso Molina-Molinar was called home on Oct. 13, 2024. Alfonso passed away at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center in Alamosa, with his loving family by his side. Alfonso was welcomed into the world on April 1, 1962, the beloved son of Pablo Molina and Elena Molinar. 

Alfonso devoted his life to caring for his family, they were his world. His desire was to be the absolute best father, grandfather, brother and friend he could be. Alfonso was very social, cordial, loving, helpful and caring. He was always the hand to help anyone in need. 

In his free time, he liked to burn trash and check on his chickens. Alfonso enjoyed being a big help to his brothers and making memories with his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Alfonso was very loved and will be dearly missed.  

Alfonso was preceded in death by his parents Pablo Molina and Elena Molinar.  

Alfonso's legacy will live on through his beloved wife Rosa Molina of Ft. Garland, Colo.; Daughters Brenda (Mario) Najera, Marleene Molina (Angel Romero), sons Ivan Molina (Kailyn Kalana), Mario Molina, grandchildren Zurima Najera, Rolando Najera, Jaaziah Maes, Jaaziel Maes, Marshall Molina, brothers Eduardo Molina (Ruby Valdez) Miguel (Patricia) Molina, Apolonio Molina (Martha Ojeda), Ramon Molina (Mary Lopez) and one sister Mary Sarmiento (Sergio). Alfonso was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Rosary will be held on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024, at 6 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Ft. Garland. Mass of the Resurrection will be on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, at 10 a.m. also at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Ft. Garland Cemetery.
