Alberta Elaine Quintana, born on May 19, 1952, in Center, Colo., passed away peacefully at her home in Alamosa, Colo., on Oct. 11, 2024. She was surrounded by her loving daughter, Angel Quintana, and Angel's partner, Lance Refior.
Alberta was united in marriage to Manuel Quintana on Aug. 27, 1983. They shared 26 wonderful years together until Manuel's passing on Dec. 15, 2009.
Alberta was the cherished daughter of Albert and Cordelia Garcia. She was a beloved sister to Rose Sanchez (Leadville, Colo.), Sylvia Russell, Linda Garcia, Sharon Bustos, and Anna Garcia, all residing in Alamosa.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Gloria Garcia and Francis Riker, her brother Albert Garcia Jr., her husband Manuel Quintana, and her father Albert Garcia.
She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
Alberta was known for her never-ending love, compassion, joy, and kindness. Her sense of humor was a hallmark of her personality, often bringing laughter to those around her, especially during her time at the Best Western.
She often joked about being the "cutest" among her siblings, a testament to her playful spirit. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Angel Quintana, who was the light of her life and her greatest pride. Alberta's life was a testament to the power of love and family. Her warmth and generosity touched everyone she met, leaving a legacy of kindness and joy. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. In honoring Alberta's memory, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved.
Alberta was cremated by Romero Funeral Home of Alamosa and there will be no service held.
