Alamosa falls short against visiting Bayfield

ALAMOSA — Mean Moose volleyball lost at home to Bayfield on Tuesday afternoon 3 sets to none.  

When these teams played last year it was a similar result with Alamosa falling by the same score. This year the first set was competitive with Alamosa forcing it to continue past the match point before succumbing 25-27. The second set Alamosa had similar success having beaten Bayfield to the gamepoint only to fall 26-24. The third set Bayfield closed things out promptly 25-15 to end the night.

Jordan Mobbley led the Moose attack for the night adding 5 kills and 2 aces to her season totals. Mobbley was also Alamosa’s most efficient at the net off 14 attempts to earn a .214 hit percentage.

Mobbley shared the team lead for kills on Tuesday with Ashley Ramirez whose own 5 kills puts her at 16 for the season good enough for third on the team. Mobbley shared the team lead for aces with Lexi Ortega, which brings Ortega to a team best 8 on the season and a 15.7 ace percentage. Ortega also registered 19 digs pushing her to 73 thus far in the season. Terese Chavez added 12 digs to her own season total of 34.

Defensively Taylor Motz led the team in blocks with 3 adding that to her total Motz leads the team at 6.
