Alamosa County wins first place in light parade

Ef's Restaurant and The Five Star Riders Club's float, last year's winners, came in second place at the Christmas Light Parade on Dec. 23. This was the seventh year of the parade.

Xcel Energy was the fourth place winner at the Christmas Light Parade on Dec. 23. Attendees were treated to hot chocolate, posole and a visit from Santa Claus at Cole Park after the parade.

U.S. Tractor and Harvest Inc. placed fifth at the Christmas Light Parade on Dec. 23. Judges for the competition were Valley Courier Publisher Keith Cerny, Alamosa City Councilor Liz Thomas Hensley and Alamosa City Manager Heather Brooks.
