ALAMOSA – The annual Alamosa 18U baseball tournament will take place this weekend and it will begin with two games today at Ortega Middle School.
There are six teams playing in this year’s tournament with three teams competing in two pools.
In Pool A, the teams consist of Alamosa, Monte Vista and Lamar, while in Pool B, it will be the Alamosa JV team, Center and Bayfield.
Both fields at Ortega will be in use.
On the north field, Alamosa will host Monte Vista at 10 a.m., followed by Monte Vista vs. Lamar at 12:15 p.m., and Alamosa against Lamar at 2:30 p.m.
On the south field, play begins with the Alamosa JV hosting Center at 10 a.m., followed by Center against Bayfield at 12:15 and the Alamosa JV against Bayfield at 2:30 p.m.
Play continues Saturday with the semifinals at 10 a.m. There will be a semifinal game on both fields.
The tournament will end with the championship game at 12:15 p.m. on the north field.
