Adams earns a first-place vote in RMAC preseason poll

COLORADO SPRINGS – Adams State University women's soccer team was voted 10^th in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Preseason Women's Soccer Poll, the conference announced this morning. Adams received a first-place vote, joining Colorado School of Mines and Regis University as the only schools to earn a top-notched vote.
 
Colorado School of Mines earned 10 first-place votes and 144 total coaches points to walk away with the top-ranking in the Preseason poll. Regis followed with a pair of first-place votes and 122 total points. Colorado Mines' Emily Garnier was named the RMAC Preseason Player of the Year as well as the Defensive Player of the Year. UCCS' Grace Ramsden was named the Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year.

 
The Grizzlies are led by senior goalkeeper Teagan Moore, who was named the RMAC Goalie of the Week last season for the second week of competition last season. Also for Adams, senior Lacey Daniel returns after earning herself a RMAC Player of the Week award during the third week of competition last season.
 
Adams State finished just outside of playoff contention last season with a ninth-place finish and an overall record of 7-8-1. The team is under direction of head coach Doris Sullivan, who is entering her sixth season with Adams State.
