ALAMOSA – The South-Central League released its All-Conference football team earlier this month with 24 players from the San Luis Valley being honored.
League champion Monte Vista had the most selections with 10. The Pirates were led by Azaraiah Hurtado who was named the league’s Defensive Player of the Year.
Hurtado was placed on the first team along with five other Monte Vista players. Also named to the first team were Alex Marquez, Jacob Pacheco, Kaden Madrid, Zach Gallegos and Jeremiah Baumgardner.
Three more Pirates were second team including Ismael Medina, Jon Enderlie and Jose Zamarripa.
Mason Mondragon was an honorable mention selection.
Monte Vista’s Manny Wasinger was named the Coach of the Year.
Centauri had eight selections and was led by Parker Buhr who was the Offensive Player of the Year.
Buhr was a first team selection along with four other Falcons including Spenser Smith, Jace Creel, Jace Haslett and Sean Jarvies.
Carson Shawcroft and Dallyn King were both honorable mention, and Cole Jackson was honorable mention.
Center had six selections. Vikings named to the first team Noah Swanson, Angel Rios and Caden Ruggles. Jaden Martinez and Max Almanza were second team, and Dominic Ramirez was honorable mention.
Ignacio had eight selections wirg four on the first teaqm, three on the second team and one honorable mention. Trinidad had five selections including two first team, two second team and one honorable mention.
