The Monte Vista High School baseball team had a tough start to the Class 2A State Tournament on Friday as it lost to second-ranked and defending state champion Denver Christian 4-1 at the Runyon Sports Complex’s Hobbs Field.

The Colorado High School activities Association released its All-State track and field teams on Thursday. All of the All-State teams are posted on the CHSAANow.com web site.

The Alamosa and Monte Vista high school girls golf teams finished the 2024 season as the second round of the Class 3A State Tournament came to a conclusion Tuesday at the Olde Course in Loveland.

The Third Annual Memorial Day Gym Ray Jam will take place on May 27 at Centauri High School. It is a 5-on-5 double elimination tournament.

The seventh-ranked Monte Vista High School baseball team won the Class 2A Region 7 Tournament Saturday at Adrian M. Gutierrez Field. The Pirates first held off a late Ellicott charge for a 5-4 win, and they then defeated Dawson School 2-1 in nine innings. With the tournament win, Monte Vista qualifies for this week’s Class 2A State Tournament at the Runyon Sports Complex in Pueblo.

The Alamosa High School girls golf team is in 11th place after the first day of the Class 3A State Tournament Monday at the Olde Course in Loveland.

The 2024 Colorado High School Activities Association state track meet began Thursday at Jefferson County Stadium in Lakewood.

The Colorado High School Activities Association released the regional baseball brackets for Classes 5A, 4A, 3A and 2A on Wednesday with three local schools continuing their seasons. All three teams are Class 2A schools.

The Larry Holder Golf Tournament will take place on June 29 at the Monte Vista Golf Course. This year, the tournament features golf with a twist on the Front 9 and with a glowball on the Back 9.

Four high school girls golfers qualified for the Class 3A State Tournament on Tuesday as both Alamosa and Monte Vista competed at the Region 4 Tournament at Cattails Golf Course.

The Colorado High School Activities Association released the list of qualifiers for the 2024 State Track and Field Meet on Monday.
