Noah Arthur Abrams was born June 27, 1975, at Huntington Hospital in Huntington, Long Island, NY.  Noah passed away from a severe heart attack on Oct. 11, 2024, at 11:11 a.m. at the Poncha Market in Poncha Springs, Colo. 

Damien Meliton Lopez was born on Dec. 2, 1981, in Tucson, Ariz. Born to Denise Lopez-Esquibel (née Lopez), Damien spent the first years of his childhood surrounded by a village of love and dedication, spending much of his time with his godparents, Frances and Ray Moreno, as well as his Nana and Pampoo, Theresa and Meliton Lopez, while Denise accomplished the incredible feat of graduating from nursing school as a new mother. 

Lifelong Monte Vista resident Horacio Gilbert Naranjo, 56, was called home to be reunited in Heaven with his parents on Oct. 12, 2024. He passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all of his loving family, just like he would have wanted. Horacio made his grand entrance into the world on Aug. 17, 1968, the beloved son of Horacio Eloy Naranjo and Beneranda (Archuleta) Naranjo. 

Juanita Patricia Nobriga Gutierrez Peterson (Pebbles), 56, was called to heaven on Oct. 3, 2024, peacefully at home with family. Trish was born on Nov. 27, 1967, in Denver, Colo., to parents Theodore Nobriga and Rebecca Ayon. 

With a heavy heart we are saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful angel, Maria Ida Vigil Salas, 87, of Los Piños, N.M./Española, N.M., who passed on Oct. 7, 2024.  

Longtime Blanca resident Alfonso Molina-Molinar was called home on Oct. 13, 2024. Alfonso passed away at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center in Alamosa, with his loving family by his side. Alfonso was welcomed into the world on April 1, 1962, the beloved son of Pablo Molina and Elena Molinar. 

LA JARA – Officer Richard (Shortē) Ruybal, a man of courage, generosity, and selflessness, left this world on Oct. 10, 2024, at the age of 30. Born on July 3, 1994, in La Jara, Colo., Richard’s life was a testament to his dedication to service, his love for his family, and his passion for his community. 

Beatrice Lucille Lucero, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Oct. 4, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on June 8, 1933, Beatrice lived a life filled with love, family, and service to her community. 

Andrew Paul Sandoval went to join his Tia Yoli in heaven on Oct. 11, 2024, Andrew was born on Aug. 12, 1992, to Roberta Martinez and Pablo Sandoval. 

Donald Glen Larsen, known affectionately as Don, left this world on Oct. 8, 2024, at San Luis Valley Health in Conejos County, Colo. Born to parents Harry Larsen and Mary (Carter) Larsen Creel in the crisp winter of 1940, on Feb. 18, in Colorado, Don's journey began amidst the backdrop of the Rocky Mountains which he so cherished throughout his life. 

Our mom, Erma June Defee, died on Sept. 20, 2024, in Colorado Springs. She was born on Jan. 25, 1942, in Woodville, Texas, to Morris Elmo and Sally Mae Miles. 

Donald David Salazar, age 72, passed away peacefully on Oct. 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on Dec. 3, 1951, Donald grew up in Antonito, Colo., where he developed his love for the outdoors that would last throughout his life. He graduated from high school in 1969 and proudly served in the United States Navy from 1970 to 1974, specializing in interior communications and electronics. 

Clayton Allen Ferrell was born on May 14, 1951, in Alamosa Community Hospital to his mother Elsie and father Kenneth. He died on the open road in Montana on Sept. 27, 2024, and given how much he hated hospitals, he probably picked the right place to depart from us. 

Mark Colman, 63, of Alamosa, Colo., passed away on June 28, 2024. He was enjoying the freedom of flight when his plane crashed in Big Creek, Idaho and he succumbed to a fatal injury as a result. 

Debra Ann (Puzick) Hallisy passed away on Sept. 24, 2024, at her home in Del Norte, Colo. She was 70 years old.  Deb was born in Colorado Springs, Colo., on Nov. 26, 1953. She graduated from Wasson High School in Colorado Springs in 1971.  

Jane Moeller passed away on July 16, 2024, in Alamosa, Colo.  Jane, the daughter of Helen and B Howard Padgett, was born in Walterboro, S.C.

MANASSA – Ernestina Romero, a cherished mother, partner, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sept. 30, 2024, in La Jara, Colo., where she was also born on June 17, 1968. Her life was a testament to her strength, creativity, and passion, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. 

Tobias L. Romo, affectionately known as Toby, was born on April 5, 1961, in Embudo, N.M. He passed away peacefully on Sept. 25, 2024, in Colorado Springs, Colo., surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with illness. 

Our beloved cowboy, Ernesto “The Barber” Sanchez took his last ride on Sept. 30, 2024, at the age of 78. Ernesto was born in Cañon de Chama on Jan. 15, 1946, to Patricio S. and Rebecca G. Sanchez. 

Eduwiges "Vicky" Corral, born on Oct. 22, 1956, in Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, Mexico, passed away on Sept. 25, 2024, of Center, Colo. She is now with her mom (Arcenia Majalca), dad (Fidel Corral), and brother (Manuel Corral).
