Yolanda “Claudette” Valdez

Our beloved Yolanda “Claudette” Valdez went to be with the Lord on April 27, 2022. Claudette was born on November 22, 1960 in Alamosa, Colorado to Alfonso “Judy” and Wanda Valdez. There are so many lives in which Claudette has touched. She had a smile that was contagious and could light up any room in which she entered. All who knew her, loved her. She possessed the most extraordinary, vibrant and youthful spirit – one that could never be replicated or replaced. Claudette’s greatest joys included her family, who she influenced so very deeply. She loved to travel and doing anything that took her outside, including bike riding and hiking. She enjoyed the occasional “coffee break” and bike rally, listening to live music, and catching the sunrise and sunset.

Claudette is survived by her parents Judy and Wanda Valdez, her son Jerek DeLuna, daughters Antionette (Jeremy) Romero and Alina DeLuna, granddaughter’s Alyanna, Delilah and Jericka Romero, Audrianna and Janessa Mondragon, brother Alan (Rosann) Valdez, sister Teresa (Steve) Valdez, nephews Brandon, Dario, Shane Valdez, James Sanchez, nieces Alexis Martinez and Nicole (Timothy) Nelson, as well as many cousins and friends.

She is proceeded in death by her paternal grandparents Dario and Margarita Valdez, maternal grandparents Frank “Kiko” and Estrella Medina, uncles Abe, Bobby, Don, Frank, George and Tom Valdez, Archie, Dennis, Eban, Steve and Virgil Medina, aunts Nadine Rascon and Patsy Medina, cousins Audrey Martinez, Janay Romero and JonDoe Placek, and grandson Eduardo Ontiveros.
